Hot stamping is already a very common part of printed matter, and the technology is also very mature. Here are five hot stamping methods for you. These five processes can be used in carton packaging printing, and each has different characteristics. You can choose different hot stamping methods with different designs.
1. Flat ironing
Flat ironing is a commonly used hot stamping method. Only the content that needs to be hot stamped will have metal, and other areas will be blank or printed content. The purpose of flat ironing is to highlight the position of hot stamping, and hot stamp the most important materials to gold. Compared with other processes, such as reverse hot stamping and multiple hot stamping, flat ironing is less difficult and less likely to make mistakes. In addition, because it is the simplest bronzing process, it will consume less paper.
2, anti-hot
The reverse ironing is the opposite of flat ironing. The metal hollow is used to highlight the white space, and the gilded part is used to set off. The usual practice is to surround the image and text to be highlighted with a large graphic, the surrounding graphic will be bronzed and the image and text to be highlighted are hollowed out, thus forming an anti-hot effect. When doing anti-ironing, if the foil area is large, the price will be higher. Moreover, the highlighted graphic lines should not be too thin (need more than 6pt), otherwise the effect of the finished product will be unsatisfactory.
If you are using special paper for hot stamping, you need to consider the characteristics of the paper texture, etc. If the surface is not smooth, it is not recommended to use anti-hot because the fineness of large-area hot stamping is easily affected by the paper texture.
3, printing and hot overlap
Stamping overlap is a processing technology that tests the master's skill, and its printing design is a clever combination of stamping and printing colors. The master will do the printing first, and then hot stamping. The hot stamping process has a high degree of accuracy on the position, but the effect of the printed product is first-class and full of fun. This approach is not only a test of the skill of the master, but also a test of the designer's thinking of matching looks.
ROCKDESIGN silver ink is printed first, and the rest are printed later; the precision of the golden slash is very high
4, multi-color bronzing
In order to highlight the graphics and text, many designers will hot stamp the same graphic twice or more. This is called multi-color bronzing. This hot stamping method also requires a high-precision hot stamping method, which is similar to the hot stamping overlap. The hot stamping overlap is the color and the hot stamping, and the multi-color hot stamping is the overlap of multiple hot stamping colors. When there are multiple colors to be hot stamped, you need to pay attention to the compatibility of the hot stamping position and gold foil. If the designer sets the two bronzing distances too short when designing, there will be a chance to make the two colors stick together.
5, three-dimensional hot stamping
The combination of bronzing and embossing process is three-dimensional bronzing, which makes the part of the bronzing bulge and forms a three-dimensional relief effect. However, it should be noted that the back of the three-dimensional hot stamping will have a concave effect, so remember to leave the back side blank when designing, otherwise the graphics or text will be affected.
